It is important to make sure that your new puppy stays on the same food that the breeder has them eating. Moving to their new home is a stressful event. They are leaving everything they have ever known, leaving their momma, their sibblings and all the smells they are familiar with, Switching their food suddenly at the same time would be a mistake. You want to keep them on the food they are accustomed to for at least 1-2 weeks while they acclimate to their new environment. We use Bill-Jac Puppyfood, not because it is the "healthiest" puppy food out there, but because the food is easy to crumble and puppies don't seem to choke on it. We also find that it is a good transition food for weaning.
During your puppy's transition, you do not want to give him/her treats unless the breeder tells you they are accustomed to them.

Treats:
2. Canned Pumpkin: https://amzn.to/4dseiDf
The only treat I would have on hand is canned pumpkin (plain). If ever your puppy gets loose stool a spoonful of canned pumpkin can get things back on track. TIP: Once you open a can, whatever your puppy does not eat can be put in an ice tray and the cubes can be saved in the freezer for a future treat (or loose stool episode). It does not have to be this brand, you can find canned pumpkin at your grocery store, just make sure it has no seasoning or anything added. We grow a big garden every year, so we grow a year supply of pumkin and freeze dry it for our dogs as a treat.
